 Delivery Terms and Conditions

Murphys Direct use two different national pallet networks to deliver our products.

Economy delivery is approximately based on 5-14 working days (Monday to Friday, excluding bank holidays).

Our Standard delivery is approximately based on 3-10 working days (Monday to Friday, excluding bank holidays).

Delivery is a contract between the customer and the courier service.

Customers will have their order delivered by a local member of our courier service.  This will be a kerbside delivery. Your order will arrive on a wooden pallet on a tail-lift vehicle about the size of a fire engine .  The driver will lower the goods off the rear of the wagon, and use a pallet truck to deposit them as near to the property as possible.

If you have any queries or alternative delivery requirements such as timed deliveries, please use our contact us form to check if this is possible prior to placing your order.

The driver will aim to contact you an hour ahead of your delivery to inform you of their estimated time of arrival. As such a valid telephone number is required when ordering.

Delivery by the company shall be conditional upon access free from encumbrances and good roads being available to the carrier’s vehicles to the place of delivery. The delivery vehicles will not drive across fields or unmade roads.

It is the customer’s responsibility to inform the company if there may be access problems. If the company or its agent cannot gain access to the delivery address then additional costs will be incurred and shall ultimately fall to the customer.

In such cases that delivery, in the opinion of the company is not possible, then the company reserves the right to cancel the order, and a refund given will be minus full shipping charges.

The company will not accept any liability for damages to property caused during delivery.

Kerbside deliveries only

The goods will be palletised and delivered via a vehicle with a tailift and a manual pallet trunk which will not operate over grass, or gravel pathways.

Our vehicles are not authorised to leave the public highway.

Our drivers will assist you to the best of their ability but are not authorised to remove goods from the pallets or deliver goods elsewhere on your property.

Our drivers are not authorised to enter your property or position the delivery vehicle onto any part of land which forms your property.

Our drivers will only deliver when

  • The ground is flat, solid and unhindered by obstruction.
  • Where there are raised kerbs that the pallet truck cannot access from the roadside, the customer understands the pallet will be left in the safest and most practical nearby location.
  • The customer agrees to remove the pallet and its goods from the kerbside and understands that this is not the responsibility of the driver.
  • Where the property has a suitable driveway that the vehicle can access, and the land owner has authorised us to do so, the landowner provides a disclaimer to Murphys Direct and it’s agents; disclaiming any event of damage caused by our vehicle, arising from our vehicle leaving the public highway upon the request of the customer.
  • The land owner also ensures that there is no risk of harm or likelihood of injury to the driver, or of damage to the vehicle or its load.
  • There is sufficient space for the vehicle to safely manoeuvre on the road AND operate a tailift with goods weighing up to 1000KG.
  • If the customer is not present and requests the pallet to be left on the property this will be done at the discretion of the driver and entirely at the customers own risk.

If you need to reschedule your delivery, you must give at least 36 hours’ notice.

Unplanned redeliveries are charged up to €60 per pallet.

Any orders returned to us once the products are in transit will be refunded minus the cost of transport/redelivery fee each way to (additional charges may apply to areas outside of ROI). Goods must be returned in the condition that they were received, hooded and accessible by a pallet pump truck and vehicle.

If you require clarification on any of the Murphys Direct Terms & Conditions of delivery, please contact us by using our Contact Us form prior to placing your order.

Please Note: Murphys Direct cannot be held liable for costs incurred due to delayed deliveries. The majority of consignments go out through our couriers network.

The driver is remitted to deliver to the “Kerb side” and not directly into your property. The driver is not responsible for removing the goods to a place of your choice such as a garden or the side of the property, so please ensure you have made sufficient arrangements to move your goods into your property once the driver has delivered the pallet to the Kerb side.

If you are concerned that a larger vehicle will have access problems or be subject to road restrictions, you are advised to contact the info@murphysdirect.com prior to placing your order. We will then endeavour to make an alternative arrangement for you. The pallet can only be left on a flat, stone, concrete or tarmac surface, free from manhole or service covers which can be accessed by a manual pallet truck. The driver will be unable to push the pallet up or down inclines or across grass or gravel pathways.

Murphys Direct use one of the largest pallet networks with a full track and trace facility, offering a strong pallet network with a range of services, however being a road delivery it can be subject to matters beyond its control, such as road closures, traffic etc. As much as possible we will keep you advised of any potential delays. Please also note that this is an unguaranteed service, but rest assured, we will make every attempt to keep your order on track.

When you are in receipt of your order, it is important to check the packaging for any visual damage to the goods and then sign for its safe arrival. If you are unfortunate enough to receive damaged goods or there are missing items, please make sure it is noted on the courier's paperwork. We also strongly suggest that you contact us directly as soon as possible to make sure we are aware of the problem.

If your order arrives as arranged but we are unable to deliver because you are not home (and have not agreed in advance to unattended delivery at your own risk being made), or there is insufficient space available for the vehicle to safely manoeuvre on the road AND operate a tail lift with goods weighing up to 1000KG, you will be liable for any additional costs incurred for the failed delivery and the goods either being returned or redelivery having to be arranged. The return delivery charge for failed deliveries incurs a €60 minimum charge.

Where goods are refused on delivery that are found to be undamaged on return, we reserve the right to pass on FULL carriage charges that we incur in returning the goods to us.

Please note during busy periods delays may occur. All pallets are delivered to the kerbside as near as possible to the delivery address. It will then be the responsibility of the customer to ensure that the product is moved promptly and does not obstruct the carriageway or pavement.

Some local authorities may prosecute if an obstruction is not cleared. Murphys Direct and its agents will accept no responsibility for any obstruction. Access to your premises must be suitable for a 30ft (9.2m) heavy goods vehicle (for example, can a fire engine get to the drop off point?) If permits are required, they must be obtained by the customer.

This does not affect your statutory rights.
